Surrey RCMP officers followed a female driver from South Surrey down Fraser Highway Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 16, just after 1 p.m.
Officers attempted a traffic stop with a vehicle in South Surrey, but the driver failed to stop for police and continued to 鈥渄rive recklessly,鈥 according to a press release.
An RCMP helicopter was utilized to help locate the vehicle, as the driver went through 91原创 to Abbotsford before backtracking to 91原创, where it collided with a civilian vehicle near 208th Street and 51b Avenue.
鈥淭he female driver was arrested by Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services (PDS), and treated at scene by EHS for minor injuries,鈥 said Cpl. James Mason with Surrey RCMP.
He added that the civilian was not injured.
The southbound section of 208th Street was closed for about 40 minutes while police secured the scene.
Cpl. Zynal Sharoom with 91原创 RCMP confirmed the incident was not connected to the recent arson in a 91原创 City backyard shed nearby.
