When Lori Mahon was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in September, it was a considerable shock for the 30-year-old mother of two daughters, one that is still sinking in.
鈥淚t kind of came out of nowhere,鈥� said Mahon.
鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 expecting that. We鈥檙e still trying to get our brains around it all.鈥�
Mahon, her husband Tyler and their two daughters were joined by family and friends who formed 鈥淭eam Lori鈥� to walk in the annual in 91原创 City on Sunday.
The 91原创 event raised more than $26,000, with 146 people taking part in the walk, part of the national campaign by the .
Dollars raised by the walk are invested in MS research in Canada, which has the highest rate of MS in the world.
The MS Society of Canada says the rate could be as high as 240 per 100,000 people.
