A 34-year-old 91原创 woman who is already on conditions to not be near any WalMart is facing new criminal charges after she allegedly tried to make off with over $1,700 in stolen meat and other products on June 22.
Shortly before 10 a.m., police were called to a theft in progress at WalMart in 91原创. A woman had exited the store with a shopping cart full of items, including clothing and meat.
She tried to walk away, but staff were able to provide a description to police and she was arrested. The shopping cart was located and was found to have over $1,700 worth of product, said Cpl Holly Largy.
鈥淔ortunately, there were several witnesses to the theft and her arrest was swift,鈥 said Largy.
Police located a vehicle believed to be associated to the suspect and could see it was filled with what appeared to be more stolen property worth approximately $2,000.
This suspected stolen property was seized and forms part of a separate investigation, said RCMP.
Police checks revealed the woman is subject to a condition she not be within 100 metres of any Walmart store.
Police will recommend charges.
