Alice Brown Elementary held its annual Christmas breakfast and market on Saturday, Dec. 16.
It was the school鈥檚 new principal鈥檚, Christine Thygesen, first time helping organize the event, and said there was great Christmas energy throughout the day.
鈥淭here鈥檚 so much work that goes on behind the scenes鈥 and it鈥檚 been super successful,鈥 she said.
Money raised at the event through the $8 breakfast, which included pancakes, sausages, fruit, and juice, and a Polaroid photo with Santa for $5 goes towards school programs and supplies for its students, Thygesen explained.
Parent Jessica Locke, who has helped organize the event for two years, was manning the 50/50 raffle station, where the winner takes half of the jackpot.
Thygesen said she most enjoyed seeing the community come together for the breakfast and market.
鈥淭he excitement of the kids when they see Santa, supporting local artisans, having all the families be able to come together and enjoy breakfast,鈥 she said.
The annual Christmas breakfast and market have become a tradition at Alice Brown Elementary, running for more than 10 years.
