A 91原创 neighbourhood continues its annual tradition of putting up Christmas lights and decorations for the holiday-themed Santa Claus Lane.

The street features 25 homes decorated with handmade ornaments, inflatables, lights, and Christmas tree thanks to the work of families living on 209A Street and 84th Avenue.

Every house is unique in its own way, with families taking on a different theme ranging from a Whoville village to an Elves Workshop. Some homes have lights strung across the street from one house to another.

Many hours are dedicated to bringing Santa Claus Lane to life, explained Tania Dobin, one of the residents.

鈥淲e look forward to it every year,鈥� she said.

She serves as the display coordinator and was among the first ones to pitch the idea of creating Santa Claus Lane to her neighbours.

The neighbours came together in 2020 to spread positivity during COVID pandemic restrictions, and have continued to set up the big display.

鈥淚t was such a tough and depressing time, we decided we needed to brighten up our community and bring happiness and holiday spirit to our street,鈥� Dobin said.

In addition to the unique themes at each house, Santa and Mrs. Claus can be seen strolling the street admiring the lights on some evenings.

鈥淓very year we have a visit from Santa, and this year was extra special because Santa also brought Mrs. Claus,鈥� Dobin shared.

This connected group of families or a 鈥渟treet family鈥� 鈥� as Dobin calls them 鈥� also celebrate other events together like Halloween.

Dobin said the best part of Santa Claus Lane is bringing the happiness to many people.

鈥淭here is no shortage of Christmas spirit here on Santa Claus Lane,鈥� she said.

The displays can be viewed every evening after the sun sets. Most displays will start coming down after Dec. 31.
