91原创 MLA Andrew Mercier has switched jobs in the NDP鈥檚 provincial cabinet as a result of the recent mini-shuffle by Premier David Eby.
Announced on Monday, Jan. 15, the shuffle moved Mercier from his previous post as Minister of State for Workforce Development to a new rule as Minister of State for Sustainable Forestry Innovation.
According to the government鈥檚 announcement, Mercier will support Forests Minister Bruce Ralston.
鈥淢inister Mercier will be a key partner in government to help address the urgent demand for timber supply from industry, while working to ensure that wood products are value added to help create and protect jobs in the forestry sector,鈥 Eby said in the announcement.
The primary change in the cabinet shuffle was the move of Mitzi Dean from her post as Minister for Children and Family Development to a more junior role as Minister of State for Child Care.
MLA Grace Lore, who formerly held the minister of state position, has been moved up to the full ministry position.
