Marty Brown, president of the 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In, is gathering all 25 posters to turn into a banner which will be available to purchase on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Within the first month after registration opened for the 25th anniversary 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In, 500 car owners have booked their spots for the charity car show taking place in downtown Aldergrove on Saturday, Sept. 7.

And registration is expected to start picking up quick and soon, said president Marty Brown.

"It ticks up very rapidly in the next couple of weeks, and we don't want people to be disappointed," he told The Star.

Brown recommends registering sooner rather than later for any car enthusiasts thinking of signing up as an individual or with their car club.

Many popular features of the annual car show will return, confirmed Brown, including In-N-Out Burger, the return of hot rod builder Jimmy Shine to present his award, an RC car display, live entertainment on three stages, and in excess of 1,500 classics, hot rods, and custom vehicles.

But to commemorate the 25th car show, Cruise-In directors have been collecting the classic posters of previous years to put together in a collage on a banner to sell the day of the show.

"It's a nice bit of memorabilia that captures all the posters. There will be multiple banners for sale," Brown said.

The annual Cruise-In began in 1997, but the posters started two years later in 1999.

"It [shows] quite an evolution of different artists over the years."

This year, registration is online through the  website, which allows for what he calls "simple and easy" express entry, Brown explained.

There will be plenty of paid public parking at nearby schools, including Aldergrove Community Secondary and St. Dunstan's Anglican Church.

And a shuttle service provided by 91原创 Chrysler returns this year to get folks to and from the parking areas. Specific pickup points will be posted on the Cruise-in website.

While the annual swap meet returns this year, it will be held on the Saturday of Cruise-In, instead of the Sunday, in the KFC and aquatic centre parking lot. It will be free admission for shoppers.

The Cruise-In car show takes place along Fraser Highway between 264 and 272 Streets in downtown Aldergrove on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Spectators are invited to attend as early as 8:30 a.m. The show wraps up at about 4 p.m.

The annual fundraiser attracted about 85,000 people last year, and Brown is optimistic they can top that number in 2024.
