The 91原创 Community Farmers Market is returning in December to celebrate the holidays at the arbouretum.
For the first time, the local farmers market will host a Christmas-themed market featuring local food vendors like Bad Dog Bread and the Lark鈥檚 Nest, as well as new ones including Festina Lente Estate Winery and Pinsch of Soil Farm.
Organizers of the market are most excited to connect the 91原创 community with local foods for the holidays, said market executive director Amanda Smith.
Festive activities include a kid鈥檚 craft of making a Christmas tree ornament with materials provided by 91原创 Environmental Partners Society (LEPS), a light display with light donations from Barb Sharp (member of the Christmas in Williams Park team), and a hot chocolate fundraiser.
鈥淔unds go back to the LCFM as we have lots to save for 鈥 summer advertising and to cover costs of putting on the market,鈥 Smith explained.
The hot chocolate bar is cash only for $5 per cup.
Parking is free and available at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum or at St. Andrew鈥檚 Church across the street.
The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9.
The arbouretum is located at 21177 Fraser Hwy.
