Golfers used their skills to raise funds for charity at 91原创鈥檚 Skidmore family鈥檚 annual golf tournament last month.
The Skidmore family and their company aim to raise awareness for 鈥渦nsung heroes鈥 in the community who make a difference.
This year, the charity golf tournament raised $1.128 million 鈥 the second year in a row the family raised over $1 million.
Garry Skidmore, president of Skidmore Group, said philanthropy is a powerful tool to ignite change.
鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to support the charities and organizations that are doing hard work every day to create a better world,鈥 he said.
Sam Skidmore, an event organizer and family member, said the charity golf tournaments are a powerful way to give back and make every dollar count.
鈥淭hese events are important to me and my family because they align with our values of love and service 鈥 what you do with your life matters,鈥 she said, in addition to the importance of funds raised for charity.
鈥淭he charity partners chosen are intentionally impacting the cities in which we live and work. They serve underprivileged children, youth, and seniors, support individuals struggling with mental illness and addiction, and provide resources to families and caregivers,鈥 Sam said.
Charities receiving donations from the funds raised are Ally Global, City Dream Centre, Pacific Autism Family Network, and Wagner Hills Farm.
Last year鈥檚 tournament raised over $1.5 million for charity.
