91原创 Community Music School Cafe Classico finale features string instrument trio

A trio will perform for the final concert of the 91原创 Community Music School鈥檚 (LCMS) Cafe Classico series.

Violinst Karina Slupski, cellist Ben Goheen, and pianist Christina Tong will play the memorable Tchaikovsky Piano Trio in a minor on Sunday, May 28.

Elizabeth Bergmann, artistic director at LCMS, said it has been an extraordinary year of music.

鈥淚 am thrilled to conclude our 2022-23 concert season with my dedicated colleagues in the trio,鈥 she said.

Slupski, from Poland, is a faculty member at LCMS and has performed with the Los Angeles Opera, the Pacific Symphony, Utah Chamber Artists, and Vancouver Symphony, and Vancouver Opera. She is also a founding member of the Sempre String Quartet.

Tong teaches piano at LCMS, is a co-founder of the cello and piano duo Sonorita Duo, and has won several awards for her performances. She is also a resident collaborative pianist at LCMS.

Goheen has performed for multiple B.C. symphonies such as Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra, BC Chamber Orchestra, and Canada West Chamber Orchestra. He also performed in a variety of small chamber ensembles, including the LCMS resident ensemble, Rose Gellert String Quartet, and he is the conductor of the Surrey Symphony Society鈥檚 Intermediate Strings.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. They can be bought by calling the box office at 604-534-2848 or online at .

LCMS is a non-profit organization and registered charity that provides music education to students of all ages and levels, and hosts several concerts throughout the year.
