Downtown 91Ô´´ City suffered a power failure Thursday morning, with about 2,275 BC Hydro customers without electricity for a time.

The power went out around 7:38 a.m. and was still off just before 9 a.m., through much of the morning rush hour.

The power failure affected properties west of Eastleigh Crescent, around the 91Ô´´ Bypass, and north of 52nd Avenue, and out to Landmark Way.

Not all properties in the general area were without power.

BC Hydro reported online that crews were on scene before 9 a.m., and the cause was under investigation.
