Last weekend the lawn beside the Christ Covenant Church in Miller was covered with literally thousands of small pink and blue flags, as a statement opposing abortion.
Drivers passing by the Glover Road church saw what one of the organizers, Elyse Ewert, called a “poignant reminder” of what she described as a “tragedy.” She was speaking of what she called the abortion of “pre-born children” in Canada.
The flags, she said, are a visual representation of what she claimed are approximately 100,000 abortion happening each year in this country, and she insisted this was a way of remembering each life lost.
“The event at Christ Covenant Church aims to prompt reflection and action on how we can better protect the most vulnerable among us,” said Ewert.
“We are advocating for the protection of life at all stages, and call upon our Member of Parliament Tako Van Popta and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to do everything they can to protect the human rights of all human beings, no matter how small,” she added, advocating for a law to protect “pre-born children” in Canada.
