The 91原创-based African Children's Choir is holding a number of concerts to celebrate its 40th anniversary, including one at a Willoughby church.
The choir is made up of children aged eight to 11 who come from vulnerable backgrounds across the African continent.
Each of the choir members has faced significant hardship and has often had limited access to education. The goal of the choir is give them opportunities for education and personal growth.
鈥淭he African Children鈥檚 Choir proves just how powerful music can be,鈥 says choir manager Tina Sipp. 鈥淭hese concerts not only provide hope and encouragement to our audiences, but they offer the children life-changing experiences that help shape them into future leaders.鈥
The children perform popular children's songs, traditional spirituals, and African cultural pieces.
