91Ô´´ Arts Council is hosting its second annual B.C.-wide Landscape Live Painting Competition on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Nine B.C. artists will set up at different locations in Williams Park to compete for the title of Landscape Artist of the Year, as well as an opportunity to win the viewer's choice award – determined by votes cast by spectators.
Artists are given four hours to create an original work to be judged by expert jurors, explained Deepika Pandian, events coordinator of LAC.
"Once the brushes have been set down, and after the judges have deliberated, a top three will be chosen," she said.
The viewer's choice winner will be announced on the LAC's social media pages next week.
91Ô´´ Arts Council president Lana Hart said competitions are part of the Aldergrove-based council’s mandate to promote and encourage artists in the 91Ô´´s and beyond.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. at Williams Park, located at 6596 238 St.
