Harman Bhangu will run for the BC Conservative Party in the new 91Ô´´-Abbotsford riding in the next provincial election.

A former candidate for the same party in the Surrey South byelection in 2022, Bhangu made the announcement on June 8.

He is a self-described "aggregate hauler" handling bids for contracts and operations in the construction industry, and has 15 years of experience in the heavy-load trucking industry. Bhangu is also a longtime coach for a minor league football team.

"I look forward to working with the next premier of B.C., John Rustad, and all our BC Conservative Candidates to ensure we get the job done for British Columbians," Bhangu posted on X, formerly Twitter.

"Thank you, BC Conservative members of 91Ô´´-Abbotsford, for putting your faith in me to represent you this October."

Addressing gaps in the healthcare system is high on his priority list, and Bhangu believes in affordable gas for all Canadians.

Bhangu will be up against Karen Long, who is running for the B.C. United party.

A BC NDP candidate has not yet been announced.
