Final phase of Aldergrove Town Centre begins this year

Janda Group will be wrapping up phase 2 in spring

Over the past few months, downtown Aldergrove witnessed the rise of the new 's first four six-storey buildings and one two-storey building.

Named after some of Aldergrove's pioneer families, the Shortreed, Jackman, Vanetta, and the additional Creekside 鈥 which is located along Bertrand Creek 鈥 are scheduled to be completed in spring this year.

All have been sold out and have an approximate move-in date of 2026.

The stand-alone two-storey building will host commercial space on the first floor and a daycare on the second.

Plans include expanding and lighting pathways, adding footbridges, and reclaiming green space by replanting native vegetation into the habitat around the adjacent Bertrand Creek area.

Last week, construction workers were installing a new traffic light on 272 Street that will eventually open to the new Aldergrove Town Centre Drive (or ATC Drive) which circles through the complex to Fraser Highway.

At the Sept. 23 91原创 Township council meeting, the permit application by builder Janda Group was  unanimously for a six-storey apartment building with two levels of underground parking. The permit is for the third and final phase of the town centre.

The final building containing 158 apartment units will sit just southwest of Bertrand Creek between the new ATC Drive and Fraser Highway, and east of the Venetta building.

The Star has reached out to Janda Group for comment.

In a previous interview, Sonny Janda, president of Janda Group, said the goal with the development of Aldergrove Town Centre 鈥渉as been to keep the core values of the community at heart while helping to facilitate Aldergrove鈥檚 future growth.鈥

According to the Township of 91原创, the estimated population of Aldergrove sits around 13,911 residents 鈥 which fluctuates as people move in and out of the Township, but the population overall is increasing.

Last summer, council voted to give first and second readings to a rezoning bylaw for a 0.59 acre (0.24 hectare) piece of land in the 27300-block of Fraser Highway, adjacent to the Aldergrove Town Centre.

If given final approval, the new development by Janda Group will be built on the site of the former Elks Hall.

The first two readings of the rezoning bylaws were approved unanimously and without any discussion by the council. A third and final reading has not yet been considered at a council meeting.
