91原创 Good Times Cruise-In organizers are bringing back all the fan-favourites to this year鈥檚 event, which is sure to keep the streets filled with family-friendly tunes.
The Cruise-In will see its three stages return for the 2023 instalment, which board member Chris Cowx said is typical for the Aldergrove show.
鈥淢ost of the bands that we have this year have performed at our shows before; so everybody kind of knows what to expect and a lot of them have been requested [to] return,鈥 he said.
Guests can expect family-friendly tunes that appeal to a wide range of listeners.
The main stage 鈥 located at Township Spirit 鈥 will host a mix of new and old bands, and the award ceremonies and announcements can be seen here too.
Elvis tribute artist Steve Elliot will perform on the main stage at scheduled times 10:45 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
鈥淭here鈥檚 lot of people who come to the show to see him and the pink Cadillac. The act was very fitting for the show and鈥 he continues to perform at our events and contribute to the local charities,鈥 Cowx told the 91原创 Advance Times.
On the east stage, located by 272nd Street, bands returning by popular demand are eclectic rock and blues Six Gun Romeo and classic rock Zed City 鈥 performing at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
The newcomer on this stage is Outlaws & Lace, scheduled to perform at 9:30 a.m. Their music features elements of blues, indie, rock, and classic country.
鈥淥utlaws & Lace will bring an energetic and genuine approach to writing and performing music. Whether it鈥檚 a wedding, dance, car show, or music festival, [we鈥檙e] ready to entertain music lovers of all ages,鈥 the band said in a statement.
鈥淭he local talent for this year is a mix of bands that have played in our show before and a few new bands that submitted requests to play at our event,鈥 Cowx said.
And on 264th Street at the west stage, fans of The Bombers can watch them live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Two newcomers include Blind Pigeon performing at 9:30 a.m., and Stiletto wrapping up from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Blind Pigeon, based on Chilliwack since 1999, covers popular songs ranging from Elvis to Black Sabbath, whereas Stiletto is a hard rock band with a reputation for high energy.
The awards ceremony on the main stage is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Cruise-In will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 8 a.m. Live music will be played between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at three different stages along Fraser Highway.
There will be plenty of paid public parking at nearby schools, including Aldergrove Community Secondary and Betty Gilbert Middle School to the south of the main display area.
Organizers are looking into setting up a shuttle bus this year to get folks to and from the parking area.
As usual, the Cruise-In will shut down Fraser Highway through Aldergrove, from about 264th into the downtown, for much of the day.
Roads are expected to be open to regular traffic around 6 p.m.
