A couple of major routes in 91原创 Township will see major roadwork this August, including a full detour around a stretch of 232 Street.

Township staff are alerting drivers that culvert replacements are taking place on 64 Avenue in the Willowbrook area, and on 232 Street between 56 and 64 Avenues.

The work in the 20100 block of 64 is expected to run from Monday, July 29 to Aug. 30, and will involve a temporary lane closure just east of the Canadian Tire. That will mean 64 Avenue will be narrowed from four lanes down to just two over a short distance of the road.

Drivers are being advised to consider alternate routes during construction.

Another closure will take place in rural 91原创, where 232 will be closed completely between 56 and 64 Avenues between Thursday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 16.

Between Aug. 19 and 31, construction work will mean that between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., there will be a single southbound lane open on 232 Street, with northbound traffic being detoured.

The Township is recommending a detour route that goes around to 216 Street. The only other north-south route that goes through between 56 and 64 Avenues on the west side is rural 224 Street.
