CRUISE-IN 2023: Fan-favourite performers returning to annual car show

Three stages will be set-up along Fraser Highway in Aldergrove for the live entertainment

91原创 Good Times Cruise-In organizers are bringing back all the fan-favourites, which is sure to keep the streets filled with family-friendly tunes Saturday.

The Cruise-In will see its three stages return for the 2023 instalment, which board member Chris Cowx said is typical for the huge charity car show in Aldergrove.

鈥淢ost of the bands that we have this year have performed at our shows before, so everybody kind of knows what to expect and a lot of them have been requested [to] return,鈥 he said.

Guests can expect family-friendly tunes that appeal to a wide range of listeners.

The main stage 鈥 located at 270th Street, just off Fraser Highway 鈥 will host a mix of new and old bands, plus the award ceremonies and announcements can be seen there, too.

Elvis tribute artist Steve Elliot will perform on the main stage at scheduled times 10:45 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.

鈥淚t has been 19 years, and the crowd gets bigger every time,鈥 Elliott said. 鈥淚 have love for the community of 91原创.鈥

Elliott said 91原创鈥檚 audience has responded 鈥渆xceptionally well鈥 to his shows in the past, and he鈥檚 always happy to see the 鈥渇eeling of togetherness鈥 the community brings to this event.

鈥淭here鈥檚 lot of people who come to the show to see him and the pink Cadillac. The act was very fitting for the show and鈥 he continues to perform at our events and contribute to the local charities,鈥 Cowx told the 91原创 Advance Times.

Like past years, this time the Chilliwack entertainer will bring his 1966 pink Cadillac to show and park by the main stage.

鈥淚t wouldn鈥檛 be a complete package if I didn鈥檛 have the right ride,鈥 he said.

Meanwhile, on the east stage, located by 272nd Street, bands returning by popular demand are Six Gun Romeo with its eclectic rock and blues, performing at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. There鈥檚 also the classic rockers from ZED City on stage at 11:30 a.m.

And, newcomer to this stage is Outlaws & Lace, scheduled to perform at 9:30 a.m. Their music features elements of blues, indie, rock, and classic country.

鈥淥utlaws & Lace will bring an energetic and genuine approach to writing and performing music. Whether it鈥檚 a wedding, dance, car show, or music festival, [we鈥檙e] ready to entertain music lovers of all ages,鈥 the band said in a statement.

鈥淭he local talent for this year is a mix of bands that have played in our show before and a few new bands that submitted requests to play at our event,鈥 Cowx said.

And on 264th Street at the west stage, fans of The Bombers can watch them live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Two newcomers include Blind Pigeon performing at 9:30 a.m., and Stiletto wrapping up from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Blind Pigeon, based in Chilliwack since 1999, covers popular songs ranging from Elvis to Black Sabbath, whereas Stiletto is a hard rock band with a reputation for high energy.

The car show awards ceremony on the main stage is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Cruise-In will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 8 a.m. and wraps up about 4 p.m. Live music will be played between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at three different stages along Fraser Highway.

There will be plenty of public parking at nearby s Aldergrove Community Secondary and St. Dunstan鈥檚 Anglican Church 鈥 accessible by donation. Organizers are looking into setting up a shuttle bus this year to get folks to and from the parking area.

A free shuttle service has been added this year, to get folks to and from the parking area.

As usual, the Cruise-In will shut down Fraser Highway through Aldergrove, from about 264th to 272nd Street, for the day.

Roads are expected to be open to regular traffic around 6 p.m.
