Aldergrove Community Secondary School was place on a temporary code red lockdown after a picture was posted on social media of a student holding what appeared to be a handgun in the hallways of the school Tuesday morning.
Police arrived quickly and ensured all entrances to the school were monitored until the student was found and taken into custody 14 minutes later, said Cpl. Holly Largy.
The 鈥榟andgun鈥� turned out to be a prop used in the drama department of the school.
