An exclusive ticketed shopping experience in 91原创 is expected to raise thousands for a local charity.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of 91原创 will benefit from early Christmas shoppers at the Willowbrook Shopping Centre on Tuesday evening, Nov. 21.
The indoor mall is hosting its annual Charity Shopping Night for an eighth year, allowing eager customers to get a jump on holiday shopping and help a local charity at the same time.
Nicole Lotz, marketing director at the mall, said something different is offered each year, but this year under the theme 鈥楯ingle Ball鈥 the night will focus on shopping and prizes.
Returning this year, is the 鈥済ifts of purchase鈥 prizes, which Lotz said hasn鈥檛 been offered in a few years.
Anytime someone spends a total of $250 throughout the night at any retailer in the mall they get 10 per cent back 鈥 or $25 鈥 in a Willowbrook mall gift card, she explained.
This doesn鈥檛 stop at the first $250. For each $250 spent, shoppers can show their receipts to the service desk to redeem a $25 gift card.
There is also more than $20,000 in prizes, including two WestJet tickets, jewelry, gift cards, and a 50/50 draw for the chance to win big cash prizes.
Guests can enjoy snacks and drinks while listening to live music performed by award-winning Chantal Kreviazuk.
鈥淥ne hundred per cent of proceeds raised throughout the night 鈥 ticket sales, any of the prizing on site 鈥 all goes directly to Big Brothers,鈥 Lotz said.
This year鈥檚 goal is to raise $70,000 for the charity.
Roslyn Hendersen, executive director of Big Brothers in 91原创, said the partnership is a great support for their programs.
鈥淥ur organization is fueled by volunteers, and opportunities like this 鈥 which allow us to connect with our community, share stories, and engage in a meaningful way 鈥 that ultimately support our local youth,鈥 Hendersen said.
Lotz said the charity night is an 鈥渁mazing tradition.鈥
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and wraps up at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25, and can be bought online at or in person at the customer service centre in the mall.
Access to the mall is prohibited for the general public. Tickets must be purchased.
Last year, the event raised about $25,000 for Big Brothers, and almost $20,000 for the Rotary Club.
