TransLink has announced a number changes to local bus routes for the fall around 91Ô´´, Aldergrove, and Surrey.
91Ô´´ routes seeing changes are:
503 Aldergrove-Surrey Central Station:
• Monday to Friday, first trip leaving Aldergrove to Surrey Central will be 5:30 a.m., instead of 5:40 a.m.
• Buses will leave every 10 minutes from 91Ô´´ Centre to Surrey Central from 5:30 a.m. to 5:50 a.m., up from every 20 minutes
• Every 10-12 minutes leaving from Aldergrove towards Surrey Central, up from every 20 minutes
• Every 15-20 minutes from Aldergrove to Surrey Central between 2:30-3:30 p.m., up from every 20 minutes
• First trip from Aldergrove to Surrey Central Saturday mornings will leave at 6:05 a.m., instead of 6:35 a.m.
531 White Rock Centre-Willowbrook
• Monday to Friday, trips to White Rock will be every 15 minutes between 6 and 7 a.m., up from every 20 minutes
562 91Ô´´ Centre-Walnut Grove
• Service Monday to Friday increased to every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., up from every 30 minutes
342 91Ô´´ Centre-Newton Exchange
The first trip from 91Ô´´ to Newton will begin earlier, at 7 a.m. on Saturday mornings
Around Metro Vancouver, 47 routes in total are seeing minor upgrades, with all changes to take effect on Sept. 2.
The changes are among a number of seasonal changes, as other routes that were given increases during the summer will see some hours trimmed.
TransLink recently announced it is facing a major financial shortfall that needs to be corrected next year, or it could have to cut many routes, resulting in "almost no transit service for 91Ô´´" as well as cuts to many other communities and a 35 per cent cut to HandyDART service.
