The BC Libertarian Party has named Alex Joehl as its candidate for the 91原创-Abbotsford riding in the October provincial election.

This marks the third time Joehl has run in B.C. provincial elections, having previously run in 91原创-East in both 2017 and 2020.

He has also run federally with the Libertarian Party of Canada three times, most recently in 2019 for the 91原创-Aldergrove riding.

As well, Joehl ran in the municipal elections in 91原创 from 2018 to 2022 for various roles.

"Now I'm proud to run in the newly formed 91原创-Abbotsford riding in 2024," he said.

Joehl was voted as leader of the BC Libertarian Party in 2023.

"What really drives my passion for civic engagement is the desire to be an option on the ballot for those that otherwise would have no one to identify with, to be a voice for those that aren't being heard."

His issues of focus are housing affordability, healthcare, and income tax amendments.

Joehl will be running against BC NDP candidate John Aldag, BC Conservative Party candidate Harman Bhangu, and Karen Long (formerly with the BC United) who is still listed as a candidate on Elections BC.
