Members of the Old Farts Car Club and The Rolling Barrage are co-hosting a free Halloween event in partnership with the Aldergrove legion branch on Thursday, Oct. 31.
The event will feature pumpkin carving, trick-or-treat in the parking lot, a berry-go-round, and much more, explained OFCC member Kathy Anderson.
It will be a "trunk or treat" type of event, she said, with the car community invited to decorate their vehicles and bring it along for the event.
"It's a safe event for kids to trick-or-treat," Anderson said.
"We all wanted to do an event to give back to the community for all they do for our organizations."
Anderson hopes to see school-aged children and their parents come through the lounge in their costumes.
"It can also show people we have a huge demographic of people and we want to show them that the legion is a safe and fun place that you can bring your kids to," she added.
Anderson is particularly excited for the 91原创 Township firefighters bringing a fire truck, plus some members of the Township of 91原创 Firefighters' Charities will come dressed as stormtroopers. She's also looking forward to the berry-go-round, brought in by Shooting Star Amusements.
Candy apples will be handed out for a donation, with all proceeds going towards The Rolling Barrage -- a charity that raises funds for veterans and first responders with PTSD.
"Between the ride and stormtroopers, I'm just over the moon," she exclaimed.
The event follows the Aldergrove Business Association's (ABA) trick-or-treat event, and runs from 4 to 8 p.m.
