This popular series will conclude its 2023/24 season this coming Saturday, May 25, at 7:30 p.m., with a performance by the renowned Aurora Piano Trio.

Violinist Yuel Yawney, cellist Sungyong Lim, and pianist Libby Yu will treat the audience to powerful and moving interpretations of three popular trios.

The concert will open with the famous 鈥淧iano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 11鈥 by Ludwig Beethoven, followed by the 鈥淧iano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67鈥 by Dmitri Shostakovich and Anton铆n Dvorak鈥檚 鈥淧iano Trio No. 4 in E minor, Op. 90鈥, 鈥淒umky,鈥 which will round out the program.

This is the 鈥減erfect鈥 concert to conclude the Rose Gellert Hall series, said LCMS鈥檚 artistic director Elizabeth Bergmann.

鈥淓ach of the performers are highly revered chamber musicians and sure to give a sensational performance that the audience will not forget,鈥 said Bergmann, who is an acclaimed pianist herself.

Having joined together in 2019, the Aurora Trio has since garnered critical acclaim and has been noted for exuberance, lyricism and technical virtuosity, she added.

Bergmann welcomes the public to experience their 鈥渄ynamic playing in the intimate setting鈥 of the Rose Gellert Hall.

鈥淚 encourage everyone to join us for this concert, and to help us celebrate another season of extraordinary music.鈥

Bergmann noted a few other upcoming events for music aficionados to mark on the calendar 鈥 LCMS鈥 final two professional concerts of the year.

On Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m., Juno award-winning multi-instrumentalist jazz musician and LCMS alumnus and resident artist Brad Turner will be performing on trumpet with a varied selection of jazz classics and own compositions with the Brad Turner Quartet.

Plus, the 2023/24 concert season will conclude with a performance by the school鈥檚 resident ensemble, the Rose Gellert String Quartet, on Friday, June 14, again for a 7 p.m. show.
