Some big cheeses were invited to a special tasting evening at Milestones.
The restaurant chain, with a location on the 91原创 Bypass, was promoting its Big Cheese menu event 鈥 one of four special limited-time menus offered during the year. Milestones invited representatives from various community groups to take part.
91原创鈥檚 Gateway of Hope was represented and is one of the local causes Milestones has supported with special events and fundraisers. It supported the Ride for Hope, a fundraiser for Gateway, and used its July reopening after renovations to host a fundraiser for the local shelter.
Each Milestones restaurant chooses which causes to support in their community.
鈥淢ilestones has helped 25 non-profits, raising $151,000 in the last six years,鈥 said community relations specialist Jaivin Khatri.
In addition to standard business procedures such as revamping its menu, connecting more with the community is a direction Milestones took a few years ago. Khatri explained that it was after successful fundraisers at the 91原创 Milestones that the company decided to devote more energy to community.
In the past, Milestones 91原创 has supported the Valley Therapeutic Riding Association, and causes such as the Rotary Tip 鈥榥 Taste, prostate cancer, autism awareness and more. The company, through its other locations, has also supported the Semiahmoo House Society in Surrey, which provides some assistance to some 91原创 residents.
