Editor: I would like to respond to a letter in the Wednesday, April 26 Times re: improvements to 203 Street.
We live in a condo on 203 Street and 54 Avenue.
For 17 years we have witnessed numerous accidents on 203, due to speeding and reckless driving. The improvements to the sidewalks have led to much greater safety for pedestrian traffic, scooters and bicycles. The traffic circle is accomplishing everything that these circles are designed to accommodate.
It is a vast improvement over the traffic lights. The lighting has made everything safer. Ambulances and fire trucks have no difficulty with the street.
We have a message for those who want to make 203 Street a speedway to the overpass: 鈥淪low down and obey speed limits.鈥�
