A motorist wasn鈥檛 able to back off the train tracks fast enough to avoid being hit at a crossing at 248th Street and 70th Avenue Sunday evening.
An eastbound train was honking when a southbound vehicle was on the crossing at about 8:51 p.m. on July 16.
鈥淭hey don鈥檛 think the van heard the horn,鈥 explained 91原创 RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.
As the train neared, the driver tried to clear the crossing.
鈥淭he driver panicked and tried to back off the tracks,鈥 she added.
The van contained three people. The two passengers were unharmed in the crash while the female driver sustained a minor injury.
