Delta Police are extending thanks to the community for helping to track down two teenagers in connection with a series of random pellet gun assaults in Tsawwassen yesterday.
Two boys, aged 14 and 16, were located after an "engaged community member" provided information about the suspects and the vehicle, the Delta Police Department said in a press release Wednesday (July 17).
The announcement follows a Delta Police press release Tuesday (July 16) that noted police had received three separate "assault with a weapon" reports in Tsawwassen between July 12 and 15.
"Each call involved youths/young adults driving in a grey or silver BMW sedan, shooting a pellet/BB gun at pedestrians," the release noted. "There is no known relation between any of the victims."
Police said no serious injuries had occurred but said the actions were "reckless and dangerous" and were being investigated as Criminal Code offences.
The 14-year-old and the 16-year-old, both from Tsawwassen, were arrested and released to their parents on undertakings. The pellet gun was also recovered at the time of the arrests, police say.
