A man is in custody after a stabbing in Newton near Princess Margaret Secondary, at 73 Avenue and 130 Street.
Wednesday (Dec. 4), motorists were asked to avoid the area due to road closures (since lifted) as Surrey Police investigated the crime.
Just before 10 a.m., the SPS was called by someone who was stabbed multiple times in the arm.
With the help of police dogs, officers located and arrested a male suspect nearby. During the search, Princess Margaret Secondary was placed in a temporary 鈥渉old and secure,鈥 since lifted.
The suspect is in custody pending further investigation, according to Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, media relations officer with SPS. The victim is being treated in hospital for his injuries, he added.
