A rainy Sunday shows what's in store for the rest of the week, according to Environment Canada.

After a sunny Friday and Saturday, it was a soggy start to Sunday (April 6) for many in the Lower Mainland, with 20 to 30 millimetres of rain forecast to fall through the day, and more to follow throughout the week.

Environment Canada is calling for a grey, rainy week throughout Metro Vancouver, including Surrey, Delta, White Rock and the valley, with showers and clouds expected every day, with a risk of a thunderstorm Monday afternoon (April 7).

A bright spot in the week may happen on Wednesday, the federal agency said, with a mix of sun and cloud with 40 percent chance of showers forecast.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 12 C to 14 C throughout the week, with overnight lows hovering between 6 C and 10 C.
