PHOTOS: Boundary Bay Airshow 2024 draws crowds in Delta

Sunny skies and hot weather provide a backdrop for spectacular performances

Mother Nature served up sunshine, heat and the bluest of skies for the 2024 Boundary Bay Airshow in Delta on Saturday, July 13.

Crowds flocked to the Boundary Bay Airport for the free day of aviation-related entertainment that marked the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Featured performers in the lineup included Undaunted (Stephen 鈥淐hristo鈥 Christopher and Todd 鈥淲oody鈥 Rudberg) flying their red-and-white RV7 and orange RV8; Northern Stars Aeroteam (comprised of veteran RCAF pilots Brent Handy, Todd Farrell and Greg Hume-Powell) in their Pitts Specials; Brad Wursten piloting his MX-2 Aerobatic Aircraft; Vicky Benzing in her purple 鈥淧lum Crazy鈥 P-51 Mustang; Kyle Fowler flying his unique 1986 Long EZ, Mike Tryggvason piloting the Extra 300; and Ross Granley with his Yak I8T.

Heritage aviation enthusiasts had a chance to see some Second World War aircraft, including a P-40 Kittyhawk, B-25 Mitchell and a P-51 Mustang, from the Erickson Aviation Collection out of Oregon.

A family zone, entertainment and static aviation-related displays rounded out the day.
