The Milk and Cookies for Canuck Place fundraiser is back and one of the important locations selling the combo is the home of the Abbotsford Canucks 鈥 the Abbotsford Centre.
The snack will be available during all Abbotsford Canucks home games for the rest of the season. From now until March 31, BC鈥檚 dairy farmers will match every dollar donated up to a total of $30,000, in support of Canuck Place Children鈥檚 Hospice.
The funds will aid Canuck Place, the only provider of pediatric palliative care in BC and the Yukon, currently caring for over 920 children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
The fundraiser is marking its seventh year and is presented by BC Dairy.
"BC鈥檚 dairy farmers believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting families in their most challenging moments," stated Casey Pruim, board chair for BC Dairy. "By matching donations, we hope to inspire even more generosity and help provide critical palliative care, comfort, and support to children and families at Canuck Place."
"The Canuck Place kitchen is the heart of our house," stated Dawn Clarke, manager of support services at Canuck Place. "Our cookies are famous for bringing
joy to our children and families. They鈥檙e a symbol of comfort, warmth, and the little moments that make a big difference. We鈥檙e grateful to BC鈥檚 dairy farmers for supporting the Milk and Cookies fundraiser, and helping us keep our cookie jar full.鈥
Aside from purchasing the combo at an Abbotsford Canucks game, those interested in helping out can make a direct donation or support other participating locations, including local McDonald's restaurants, Chilliwack's Benanna Bakery and Cultivate Cafe, 91原创's Cozy Bean Bakery and Maple Ridge's Hansel and Gretel Bakery.
