The Vancouver Giants earned another point on Friday night, but it was the latest in a series of tough games that came down to a one-goal difference.
The Gianst lost 5-4 in overtime against the Kelowna Rockets at the Prospera Centre.
This marks the 12th game out of 18 this year that have been decided by a single goal.
The Giants, based in 91原创, fought hard in a back-and-forth game that could have gone either way through regular play.
Kelowna began the scoring 13:53 into the first period, and the Giants answered with back-to-back goals of their own. All three were scored with the man advantage.
Ty Ronning began the scoring for the Giants, his 16th goal of tahe season. Tyler Benson put the Giants ahead as the first frame ended.
Leif Mattson of the Rockets would even the score in the second. Kelowna outshot the Giants in both the first and second period.
Brad Morrison of the Giants broke the tie in the third with his fifth goal of the year. Kelowna answered with a shot from Canucks prospect Kole Lind. The Rockets took the lead with a shot by Connor Bruggen-Cate.
Benson was back less than three minutes later to again tie the game for the squad from 91原创.
For the fifth time this season, it was down to overtime for the Giants.
Carson Twarynski ended the game at 2:07 of overtime for the Rockets off a two-on-one rush.
The Giants scored a season-high three power play goals.
Vancouver will head to Victoria tonight (Saturday).
