Folks will get a free bird's eye view of colourful flower fields spanning 14 acres when an annual tulip festival returns to Chilliwack.
The Botanica Tulip Festival, featuring nearly two million bulbs and more than 80 different varieties of tulips and spring flowers, tentatively opens on April 11.
New this year will be complimentary Ferris wheel rides running Tuesday through Sunday (April 11 to May 4) in the afternoons, offering people a chance to take in panoramic views of the vibrant landscape from above.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to welcome visitors back for another unforgettable season,鈥 said Jen Giesbrecht, co-owner and co-operator of Botanica Flower Festivals and Farm. 鈥淲ith the expanded spring U-Pick, exciting new vendor line-up, and the addition of our Ferris wheel, this year鈥檚 festival promises to be full of fresh experiences and breathtaking views.鈥
The event will introduce a newly planted display garden, a whimsical sun-shaped planting of alliums and daffodils, and the largest spring U-Pick in the Fraser Valley featuring ranunculus, anemones, snapdragons, stock, and other filler flowers.
Also on site will be various coffee and food trucks, plus other vendors.
The Botanica Tulip Festival runs daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., tentatively opening on April 11 and running until mid-May, with final dates dependent on seasonal bloom conditions. It is located at 41310 Royalwood Dr. in Chilliwack. Pets are welcome.
Tickets: $15-$20 for general admission, $12-$15 for children and seniors, infants and toddlers (up to age four) are admitted free-of-charge. Mondays offer a special flat-rate entry of $10 for all guests. People can also buy 'Early Morning Magic' tickets, which is a limited, pre-opening experience that will be available by arrangement only.
