The Semiahmoo Peninsula experience thick fog on Monday that is expected to last through Tuesday (Jan. 7) morning in many parts of the Lower Mainland.

A fog advisory remained in effect for most of Metro Vancouver Tuesday morning, making it a foggy commute for many Lower Mainland drivers,

Environment Canada said localized areas of dense fog are expected to continue through Tuesday morning, especially in low-lying areas and near sources of water across Metro Vancouver.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations, the weather agency noted, and urged travellers to be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance, Environment Canada advised drivers.
