Environment Canada issued a fog advisory Monday morning (Jan. 6) for all of Metro Vancouver, including Surrey, 91Ô´´ and White Rock.
Areas of dense fog, particularly near sources of water and low-lying areas, is "expected or occurring" until noon or early Monday afternoon, the advisory noted.
"Most areas will see improved visibility by late morning, with a few pockets likely to see dense fog until noon or early this afternoon," it continued.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
The advisory cautioned travellers to be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.
If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance, the advisory urged drivers.
