The Chilliwack Chiefs completed a perfect 2-0 run at the BCHL Showcase with a 4-1 win over the Spruce Grove Saints inside the Chilliwack Coliseum on Thursday (Oct. 17).
Chilliwack opened the Showcase with a 5-3 win over the West Kelowna Warriors on Tuesday (Oct. 15).

Here's a full recap of all four games that occured on the final day of the event:
GAME FOUR: Chilliwack Chiefs – 4 Spruce Grove Saints – 1
Chiefs goalie Sebastian Gatto made 26 saves and forward Dakota MacIntosh scored a pair of empty net goals to lead the Chiefs to a big win to close out the BCHL Showcase.
After a scoreless first period, Chilliwack's Caleb Elfering opened the scoring at 4:58 of the second with assists going to Hudson Wiles and Mateo Mrsic. That goal stood alone after two periods, with both Gatto and Saints goalie Xander Miceli making a number of key saves.

Savin Virk then put the Chiefs up 2-0 after a nifty set-up from Brady Milburn at 8:30 of the third. Spruce Grove pulled their goalie early and it paid off when Keifer Miller broke Gatto's shutout bid at 17:49 of the third. Spruce Grove kept pushing and continued to play with an extra man, but McIntosh scored twice on the empty net to provide the Chiefs with some insurance.
Chilliwack outshot Spruce Grove 31-27 and Gatto was named the Chiefs player of the game. Saints forward Colin Doherty was named the top player on the visitors.
The Chiefs record improved to 6-2-2-0 on the season after the pair of wins this week and they rank second in the BCHL's Coastal Conference. Chilliwack next travels to Prince George to battle Sprruce Kings on Saturday (Oct. 19). The next home game for the Chiefs occurs on Oct. 30.
GAME THREE: 91Ô´´ 91Ô´´ – 4 Okotoks Oilers – 0
91Ô´´'s special teams were truly special, as the club scored three times on the power play and once shorthanded to down the Oilers.
Adyn Merrick (6:18) and Ryan Schelling (10:06) both scored first period power play goals to put 91Ô´´ up 2-0 after one. The power play continued to click in the second period when Mason Kesselring scored at 6:27. Luke Pfoh added a shorthanded goal at 5:02 of the third.

91Ô´´ forwards Ethan Merner and Declan Bowmaster collected two assists apiece in the win. 91Ô´´ goalie Charlie Tritt made 26 saves for his first career BCHL shutout. Okotoks outshot 91Ô´´ 26-20 in the game.
91Ô´´ ranks third in the BCHL's Coastal Conference with a record of 6-2-1-1. The 91Ô´´ next host the Brooks Bandits on Friday (Oct. 18).

GAME TWO: Brooks Bandits – 3 Coquitlam Express – 2
The Bandits extended a nine-game win streak to open the season with a 3-2 shootout win over the Express.
Coquitlam jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, with a power play goal from Nate Crema (8:50) and a marker from Cale Colwell at 17:52. Brooks did outshoot Coquitlam 11-4 in the first.

Bandits forward Parker Lalonde scored a power play goal at 2:44 of the second to draw within one and Brooks tied the game up in the third with a power play goal from Matej Teply.
Overtime solved nothing and the teams AJ Larcroix clinched the win for Brooks in the shootout. The Bandits outshot Coquitlam 40-14. Express goalie Eric Young was named Coquitlam's player of the game and Teply recieved player of the game honours for Brooks.
The Bandits sit atop the BCHL and the Interior Conference at a perfect 9-0.

GAME ONE: Salmon Arm Silverbacks – 1 Victoria Grizzlies – 0
Defenceman Sawyer Prokopetz scored the game's lone goal at 18:19 of the second period and Silverbacks goalie Ryan Grout made 20 saves to earn his second shutout this season.
Salmon Arm outshot Victoria 35-20, including a 15-4 margin in the third period. Grizzlies goalie Tyler Hodges made 34 saves and was named Victoria's player of the game. Prokopetz earned player of the game honours for Salmon Arm.

The penalty killing for both teams was perfect, with Victoria killing off three and Salmon Arm killing off two.
Salmon Arm ranks third in the Interior Conference and now have a record of 7-2-1-0.
Thursday's event also featured a party on the plaza, with Vancouver Canucks alumni (Kirk McLean, Jyrki Lumme, Dave Babych and Darcy Rota), team mascot Fin and other activities, including shooter tutor inflatables, ball hockey games, yard games (axe throwing and Connect 4), a photo booth, music and more.
The Canucks alumni were on-hand for the puck drop of the Chiefs game and also signed autographs during the first intermission.
