The streaky Abbotsford Canucks are trending in the right way at the right time of the season and have now won seven in a row after sweeping the Manitoba Moose in Winnipeg on Friday (March 21) and Saturday (March 22).
Max Sasson was the overtime hero on Saturday, as he lured in a Manitoba Moose defender and then turned on the after burners to go end to end and give the Canucks the 5-4 win.

The back-and-forth game saw the teams tied 2-2 after two and the Canucks jumped out to a 4-2 lead early in the third after both Sammy Blais and Guillaume Brisebois scored 90 seconds in.
That lead was short-lived after the Moose scored two goals of their own in 32 seconds just a few minutes later. Abbotsford applied pressure for the rest of the third period, out shooting Manitoba 13-6 in the third, but couldn't beat Moose goalie Domenic Divincentiis.

Blais and Cole McWard scored Abbotsford's two first period goals and both Blais and Ty Mueller had two point games. Canucks goalie Ty Young made 29 saves for his seventh win on the season and he's now won four in a row and five of his last six starts.

Saturday's overtime win comes after a 4-2 win over the Moose on Friday.
Abbotsford led 3-1 after one after two goals from Tristen Nielsen and a marker from Danila Klimovich 鈥 who now leads the team with 22 goals.
A scoreless second period followed, but the Moose cut the lead to one at 16:57 of the third. Mueller added a power play goal at 19:16 to ice the game for Abbotsford.

Canucks goalie Nikita Tolopilo was excellent and made 24 saves to record his 15th win on the season. He has won his last three starts. Sasson had three assists and Nielsen, Mueller and Arshdeep Bains all had two point nights.

Abbotsford has now rolled off seven straight wins and have jumped into third place in the Pacific Division. The team's record is now 34-23-2-1. The top team in the division receives a first round bye, with seeds two, three and four all earning home ice in round one of the AHL playoffs.
The Canucks remain on the road and next head to San Jose to take on the Barracuda on Friday (March 28) and Saturday (March 29). The team then returns home to host the Laval Rocket on April 5 and 6.
