Wind causes headaches for 91原创 Tuesday afternoon

A tree fell on a young woman鈥檚 car in North 91原创, and there were lots of power outages.

Township firefighters were called to remove a large tree from a car on Tuesday afternoon.

A young woman pulled into the parking lot of North 91原创 Church to use her phone Tuesday afternoon.

She would end up having to use it to call for help when a large tree crashed down onto the passenger and rear side of the small car.

Soon 91原创 Township firefighters were bucking the tree into smaller pieces to remove it from her vehicle in the parking lot strewn with leaves and branches.

Strong winds Tuesday cause problems for many around the Lower Mainland and the Central Interior and on Vancouver Island.

As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, there were 23,821 customers affected by 30 outages in the Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast. Province-wide, the number was more than 48,000 customers without power.

The winds are forecast to ease overnight.
