Weather and structural issues with an old bridge caused unexpected delays in 203rd Street revamp.

Nicomekl Bridge reopened Monday, after more than three months of delays.

The bridge, located in the 4900 block of 203rd Street in 91Ô­´´ City, was shut down since late last August.

Initial expectations were that the revamping and expansion of the bridge, as well as the reworking of 203rd Street between Michaud and Grade Crescents – including the addition of a roundabout at 53rd Avenue – would all be wrapped up by the end of January.

But weather and a number of unexpected problems with the bridge caused multiple delays. with comments from the project manager.

In the meantime, the finishing work continues, but traffic is now flowing north and south over the bridge.

It’s completion is being met with some mixed reaction on social media (which includes a ), most happy to hear the news.
