A 91Ô´´ man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to a garage – at the same property where he allegedly set fire to the house in August.

Firefighters and RCMP were called just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening to a property near 200th Street and 44th Avenue in Brookswood.

A 26-year-old man was arrested, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the 91Ô´´ RCMP.

The man is of no fixed address, but formerly lived in 91Ô´´. He is known to the owner of the property, Largy said.

The man was taken into custody both for this arson, and for outstanding warrants, which included a previous arson charge related to the same property, two breaches of court conditions, and an assault. Neighbours said the house on the site was burned down last August.

The suspect was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames and the garage was not destroyed.

According to the ScanBC Twitter account, the suspect was waiting at the scene when authorities arrived.
