Proposed changes to truck routes in North 91原创 could affect Walnut Grove, Fort 91原创, and Willoughby.
91原创 Township will host a drop-in information session about the planned changes on Monday, June 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the 91原创 Events Centre.
The changes include removing truck route status for 88th and 96th Avenues, east of 216th Street, as well as creating a new truck route on 216th Street south of 88th Avenue, across the Trans-Canada Highway and through Willoughby to Milner.
Rawlison Crescent, near Fort 91原创, would also become a truck route.
The effect of the changes would be to route truck traffic away from Fort 91原创.
The creation of a truck route across the new 216th Street highway interchange, now starting construction, has been a bone of contention for Walnut Grove residents.
Many locals near 216th Street oppose the interchange and don鈥檛 want extra traffic, particularly trucks, in their neighbourhood.
The portion of 216th Street between 88th and 96th Avenues has long been a truck route.
