A special weather statement is being issued for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, with possible thunderstorms and hail on the way.
Environment Canada is forecasting a persistent upper disturbance off the coast that will form conditions favourable for the development of thunderstorms over the next few days in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
The region can expect possible strong thunderstorms today (March 26), with strong wind gusts up to 70 km/h and possible hail. Larger hail (greater than 2 cm) is possible for areas near the U.S. border, including 91原创 Township, Aldergrove and Abbotsford.
Residents are warned that localized thunderstorms might lead to water pooling and sudden reductions in visibility due to heavy rainfall.
The special weather statement applies to Metro Vancouver, including Surrey, Delta, White Rock and 91原创; the Fraser Valley, including Abbotsford, Hope and Chilliwack; and the Fraser Canyon.
