PHOTOS: Canadian women tackle Great Britain in 91原创 tonight

Canada鈥檚 football team pulled out a victory against Australia Saturday.

After a 31-6 victory over the women from Down Under, the Canadian women鈥檚 football team is going up against Great Britain tonight.

On opening day of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF)World Women鈥檚 Championship in 91原创 Saturday, there were three games that spanned from morning through evening.

During the final game of Day 1, repeated hoots and cheers of support rumbled through the bleachers at McLeod Athletic Park, as fans rallied on their Canadian team as they took on Australia.

Now, tonight (Tuesday, June 27), Canada will play, this time against Great Britain at McLeod Athletic Park starting at 7:30 p.m.

Great Britain began their first World Championship on a winning note, defeating Finland 27-21 in the first game of the day Saturday.

Meanwhile, the same day, the U.S. team squashed Mexico by the score of 29-0 during the afternoon match.

Day 2 of play is happening today, June 27, with Mexico taking on Australia at 11:30 a.m., while Finland takes on the U.S. at 3:30 p.m., and Great Britain tackling Canada Tuesday evening.

The final day of play is Friday, June 30, again with games at 11:30 a.m., as well as 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Established in 2010, the IFAF women鈥檚 world championships are held every three years, first in Sweden, then in Finland, now in Canada.

Tickets are $20/game for adults and $15 for youth and seniors.

The world championships started in 2010 in Sweden. The 2013 games were in Finland. Canada took silver at both those events.
