It was lumberjack and pancake night at the Lodge on Tuesday, with dozens and dozens of spectators showing up in plaid and devouring flapjacks ahead of the 91原创 91原创鈥檚 most recent game.
The Junior A hockey team played the West Kelowna Warriors at home in the George Preston Rec Centre on Tuesday, downing the Interior team by a score of 5-2.
That win put the 91原创 into the second spot in the Lower Mainland rankings, early on in the season, under the leadership of their new captain Brendan Budy. (more details below). Prince George Spruce Kings are in first place.
Then they鈥檙e heading to the Island to face off against the Victoria Grizzlies this Saturday, Sept. 30, then the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Sunday, Oct. 1.

A look at their captain
91原创 91原创 announce Budy as their captain for this season at the end of August.
He is entering his second season with the 91原创, after what was described as 鈥渁n impressive rookie season鈥 where he posted 15 goals, 30 assists in 56 games played.
鈥淏rendan epitomizes what being a 91原创 is, his infatuation with getting better both on and off the ice is whats going to push his teammates this season, as it already has throughout training camp.鈥 said Bobby Henderson.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a huge honour to be captain, having someone like Cooper Leitch last year to lead us and mentor me throughout the season was really key in my development as a leader,鈥 Budy said.
鈥淚 feel like this year, I鈥檝e come into camp with a lot of the same methods I learned from the leadership group. Last year, as a 16yr old they made the transition easy for me. My coaches and teammates pushed me to take pride in being held to a higher standard and thats what drove me this off season. We have a great group here, I鈥檓 looking forward to getting this season underway.鈥
Brendan is committed to play hockey at the University of Denver NCAA.
