Madison Fleischer has been named the candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada in the upcoming byelection in the Cloverdale-91原创 City electoral district.

According to a press release, Fleischer is a small business owner and community leader.

Sachit Mehra, president of the Liberal Party, said Fleischer is an experienced leader.

鈥淢adison is ready to build a better future for everyone in her community,鈥� Mehra said in the release. 鈥淢adison is ready to work with our Liberal team to build more affordable homes, strengthen our public health care system, keep guns out of our communities, and grow an economy that works for all British Columbians.鈥�

The release notes Fleischer has 鈥渄eep roots鈥� in the area as she went to Trinity Western University and now runs a public relations firm in 91原创.

鈥淲ith over a decade of community service, her contributions have earned her many accolades, including recognition as one of Surrey鈥檚 Top 25 Under 25 for her project, Slava Sweatshirts, that helped provide financial assistance to Ukrainians amidst the ongoing conflict.鈥�

Fleischer said she knows what the priorities are for families in an electoral district that stretches from Newton, through Cloverdale, and drops down into 91原创.

鈥淚鈥檓 ready to get to work to deliver a better future for our community,鈥� she said in the release. 鈥淭ogether, we can make sure everyone is able to visit the dentist, afford a home of their own, and get the prescription medications they need.鈥�

Fleischer added she鈥檒l work for the best interests of those living in the riding.

Fleischer will face off against Tamara Jansen (Conservatives), Pat McCutcheon (Greens), and Vanessa Sharma (NDP).

A byelection was officially called on Sunday Nov. 10 to elect a new MP for the riding. The election is set for Monday, Dec. 16, with four days of advance polls running Dec. 6, 7, 8, and 9.
