Dear Editor,

Matthew Claxton’s Ego and money in Silicon Valley green, tinged assessment of Silicon Valley is curious. Is he actually against entrepreneurship and innovation?

Executives and entrepreneurs come from all over the world to learn Silicon Valley’s secrets. Of course because they are a risk-taking group, there are products that go nowhere after intensive work.

They love and focus on business’ needs and anticipating customer needs, and put those needs at the centre of their innovation. They doggedly push forward with technological advances in products and services for the future.

Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison for two were entrepreneurs. Of course, the original entrepreneurs were merchants and traders from New Guinea 17,000 BCE.

Maybe Michael will get an idea one day.
