Athletes from six years old to 88 are gathering this weekend at McLeod Athletic Park in 91原创.

The 91原创 Mustangs Track and Field Club is hosting the 91原创 Pacific Invitational.

Organizer Brent Dolfo said there are actually four events going on simultaneously over the three days of the event.

The BC Masters Outdoor Championships are for athletes from their 30s up to their 80s.

The annual 91原创 Pacific Invitational is for teenagers, and there will also be Junior Developmental games for ages nine to 13, and the Little Rascals for six to eight year olds.

One of the first events taking place on Friday was the Masters weight throw.

Rose Hare took it up at age 60 and has been coming to the Masters for several years to compete.

Why take up the weight throw at 60? 鈥淏ecause I don鈥檛 have to run,鈥� Hare joked. 鈥淎nd the women in it are fun.鈥�

There are about 900 athletes taking part this weekend, including 186 Masters athletes.
