Former Canuck trainer joins 91原创-based Giants

G-Men hire an athletic trainer with more than two decades of experience.

The Vancouver Giants have hired themselves a new athletic trainer with several decades of experience.

It was announced this msorning that Mike Burnstein, a former trainer for the Canucks, is joining the 91原创-based WHL hockey team.

鈥淚鈥檓 very excited to be a part of the group with the Giants,鈥 Burnstein said.

鈥淢y conversations with Glen Hanlon and Ron Toigo have been very positive, and I鈥檓 looking forward to the opportunity to stay in game and work with the Giants.鈥

Burnstein spent 20 years, and nearly 1,600 games, as the head athletic trainer for the NHL鈥檚 Vancouver Canucks from 1995 to 2015.

The Hamilton, Ont. native has also worked for Hockey Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2015 Spengler Cup, and four World Hockey championships.

Most recently, Burnstein served as the athletic trainer for Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
